This film has great visuals from director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and superb comic timing from the entire cast. However, the characters lack any real depth. The movie is fun and the video game style fight sequences were awesome, but I never really bought the love stories or character development throughout.

The message of the film is good (enforcing financial system abuses) and the film has some really funny jokes/performances. The way the scenes unfold feels as if we're being punk'd or played with by the filmmakers like a bad Andy Kaufman skit. The reality of this film has trouble finding it's footing in my opinion. The first 15 minutes are hilarious though.

I thought this was a really funny movie and found myself uncontrollably laughing embarrassingly loud throughout. My favorite part is Steve Carell's character's hobby which is adorable, unusual, and morbid. Great cast of funny people plus Jay Roach directing is always a delight for me.
